Hope Begins Here
September in Orange County

“You are not alone — Hope Begins Here”
Team OC is proud to kick off September in Orange County with a focus on suicide prevention and healing. We will host a session led by a certified professional, offering in-person training, support, and resources as it relates to risk to you today.

The WALK
A time to come together. Join us for our Suicide Prevention and Awareness Walk, where we will honor those we’ve lost, support those who are struggling, and spread hope for the future. Every step we take is a step toward healing, awareness, and prevention.
September 12, 2026 | 11 am – 1 pm @ Paoli Community Park
Walk Fee: $30

The TALK
The digital world is changing faster than ever—and so are the risks facing our youth. Join Tyler Counsil, Ed.D., M.D.I., as he explores how social media, gaming, AI, and other online platforms impact youth mental health and safety, while sharing practical strategies to recognize warning signs and help prevent crisis.
This is a FREE workshop in partnership with Indiana Youth Institute (IYI) and Team OC , and lunch is provided.
September 1, 2026 | 11 a.m. – 1:00 p.m.
Paoli Senior Center

The SHIRT
More than a T-shirt, it’s a conversation starter and a reminder that no one has to face life’s battles alone.
Our Choose Hope shirt honors the memory of Matt Henderson and carries a message that someone may need to hear: “You Are Not Alone.” Every shirt purchased helps support Team OC’s suicide awareness and prevention efforts, allowing us to continue providing resources, education, outreach, and hope to our community.
Cost: $30 (Youth Medium & Large $20)
Proceeds support Team OC’s suicide awareness initiatives.
Wear it. Share hope. Start conversations. Help save lives.

Orange County Gets Involved
Orange County sticks together. Whether you arrive with your walking shoes, attend the luncheon, or support the cause with a donation to our growing suicide support system, we know you’ll be there. It’s what we do.
The Walk
Our Walk is a time for the community to come together to honor those we’ve lost, support those who are struggling, and spread hope for the future.
More than a walk. We will have present resources and supports for our community. Don’t want to walk? No problem, come for the fellowship, support, and resources.
The $30 fee will offer support for our ongoing Suicide Support Resources.
Curated Library Book Donation
Every year, we add new books to all three of the Orange County libraries. Books are purchased and gifted to libraries through donations collected in September for Hope Begins Here.
Suicide Survivor Boxes
Created by a local survivor who lost her husband to suicide, these boxes are filled with the resources that helped her navigate the hardest days—including an envelope marked “Day 2” with words of comfort for when the shock wears off and the grief sets in. Each box is a gesture of compassion, connection, and hope for others facing the same unimaginable loss.
Boxes include a journal and other supportive gifts and the following books:
- A Widow’s Journey: Reflections on Walking Alone
- It’s OK That You’re Not OK: Meeting Grief and Loss in a Culture That Doesn’t Understand
- You’ll Get Through This: Hope and Help for Your Turbulent Times
- Heaven: A Comprehensive Guide to Everything the Bible Says About Our Eternal Home
- Grief Therapy
Our Survivor Boxes have helped survivors in our community and beyond.
